Man Faces Backlash for Courting His Wife for Eight Years
Nnamdi Azodo, a man who married his wife after eight years of pursuing her, has been receiving criticism on social media.
On his verified page on Saturday, Azodo mocked the supposed Twitter standard that prohibits a man from asking a lady out for more than a month while celebrating his sixth wedding anniversary.
He wrote, “According to Twitter standards, you shouldn’t ask a lady out for more than a month.
“Well, I asked @ajebojesus_ out for 8 years before she said “yes”. When she did, I said let’s go to the alter.”
“Today is our 6th wedding anniversary. Moral of the story: happiness has no template,” he added.
However, netizens have criticized the prolonged courtship process the man endured while trying to win over his wife.
One netizen, Moses, expressed disbelief, saying, “I’m sorry, but I don’t think I’ll be alive for 8 years.”
Another tweep, Ade, commented, “The God that did it for you will not do it for me.”
“This is totally unnecessary. Why are y’all hellbent on propagating sick narratives on social media?
“We should learn from you or what?
