UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN (UNILORIN) ANNOUNCE SALES OF ADMISSION INTO PROFESSIONAL POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMME FOR THE 2022/2023 ACADEMIC SESSION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into various Professional Postgraduate programmes of the Ilorin Business School, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, for the 2022/2023 Academic Session.

A: INFORMATION
i. Important Notice:
(a) Only courses available for the session are advertised and as such candidates are advised to select courses available in this advertisement.
(b) Candidates are advised to PRINT out the advertisement and STUDY thoroughly before COMMENCING the application process.

UNILORIN admissions into professional postgraduate programmes, 2022/2023

ii. General Information
The duration of an Academic Session of the Ilorin Business School for Professional Postgraduate programmes is 12 calendar months. The 12-calendar month starts to count automatically from the date of first registration. Candidates are to note that programmes will automatically lapse at the expiration of the prescribed maximum duration for each programme. However, a candidate may apply for an extension, subject to the Postgraduate School regulations.
iii. General Requirements:
(a). All Certificates to be used for the application shall be available at the point of purchasing the application form, including the National Youth Service Corp DISCHARGE CERTIFICATE OR EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE.
(b). Candidates are expected to submit their application forms online together with the scanned copies of their certificates.
(c). In addition to online submission, all supporting documents in (3a) above with the hard copy of the application form should be forwarded to the Secretary, Ilorin Business School, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. Please note that the School will not be held liable for any misdirected transcript.
(d). All candidates shall have 5 O/L Credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.
(e). Candidates that attended foreign Universities, where English Language is not the medium of instruction, should submit to the Secretary, Ilorin Business School, evidence of their English Language proficiency, e.g. TOEFL or IELTS scores obtained within the validity period of such examinations.

B: AVAILABLE PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMMES FOR 2022/2023 SESSION
Master of Business Administration (MBA Executive).
i. Master of Business Administration (MBA Regular).
ii. Master of Geographic Information Systems (MGIS).
iii. Master in Industrial and Labour Relations (MILR)
iv. Master of Public Administration (MPA).
v. Master of Health Planning and Management (MHPM).
vi. Master in Information Technology (MIT)
vii. Master In International Studies (MIS)
viii. Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM).
ix. Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing and Logistics Management (PGDMLM)
x. Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy (PGDIAD)
xi. Postgraduate Diploma in Employment Relation and Trade Unionism (PGDERTU)
xii. Master in Disaster Risk Management (MDRM)

Master of Business Administration (MBA) Executive: The duration of this programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 36 months and a maximum period of 60 months. This is a weekend programme. The available areas of specialization include: Accounting, Marketing, Personnel Management, Finance, General Management, and Operations Management.
Master of Business Administration (MBA) Regular: The duration of this Programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 24 calendar months and a maximum period of 36 calendar months. Areas of specialization include: Accounting, Marketing, Personnel Management, Finance, General Management and Operations Management.
Master of Geographic Information Systems (MGIS): The duration of this programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 18 calendar months and a maximum period of 24 calendar months.
Master in Industrial and Labour Relations (MILR): The duration of this programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 18 calendar months and a maximum period of 24 calendar months. Areas of specialization include: Labour Management Relations, Personnel and Human Resources Management; Industrial Conflict and Dispute Resolution; and Labour Law.
Master of Public Administration (MPA): The duration of this programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 18 calendar months and a maximum period of 24 calendar months. Areas of specialization include: Public Finance, Budgeting, Personnel Management, Public Policy and Development Administration.
Master of Health Planning and Management (MHPM): The duration of the programme shall be for a minimum period of 18 calendar months and maximum period of 24 calendar months.
Master in Information Technology (MIT) Regular: The duration of the programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 18 calendar months and a maximum period of 24 calendar months.
Master In International Studies (MIS):
The programme is to run as a weekend programme and lectures will hold fortnightly. It is therefore expected to run for a minimum of 18 calendar months and a maximum of 30 calendar months.
Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM): The duration of the programme shall normally be for a minimum of 12 calendar months and maximum period of 18 calendar months.
Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing and Logistics Management (PGDMLM): The duration of the programme shall normally be for a minimum of 12 calendar months and maximum period of 18 calendar months.
Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy (PGDIAD): The duration of the programme shall normally be for a minimum of 12 calendar months and maximum period of 18 calendar months.
Postgraduate Diploma in Employment Relation and Trade Unionism (PGDERTU):
(i). Full-Time: The duration of the program is minimum of 12 calendar months and maximum of 24 calendar months.
(ii). Part-Time: The duration of the program is minimum of 24 calendar months and maximum of 36 calendar months.
Master of Disaster Risk Management (M.DRM):
(i) The Full-time programme shall run for a minimum of 18 calendar months and a maximum of 24 calendar months
(ii) The Part-time programme shall run for a minimum of 24 calendar months and a maximum of 36 calendar months.

C: ELIGIBILITY FOR PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMMES:
i. Master of Business Administration (MBA: Executive and Regular)
Candidates for admission into the MBA Programme shall normally possess a Bachelor degree from a recognized University, with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division). Holders of professional qualifications such as ACA, ACMA AIB ACIS, CIBN, ACTS or HND (Upper Credit) must possess a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management.
ii. Master of Geographic Information System (MGIS):
Candidates for admission into the MGIS Programme shall normally possess a Bachelor degree from a recognized University, with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division). Holders of relevant professional qualifications and at least HND (Lower Credit) with a minimum of five (5) years post –qualification experience are also eligible to apply.
iii. Master in Industrial and Labour Relations (MILR): Candidates for admission into the MILR degree Programme shall normally possess a honours degree with a minimum of Third Class of the University of Ilorin, or from any other recognized University.
iv. Master of Public Administration (MPA):
For a candidate to be eligible for admission into the MPA programme, he/she shall hold
(a). A Bachelor Degree in the Social or Management Sciences or relevant disciplines from the University of Ilorin or any other University recognised by the Senate of the University, with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) or;
(b). A recognised Third Class Honours Degree in the Social And Management Sciences or related disciplines with recognised Postgraduate Diploma from a recognized Institution, including University of Ilorin Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy (PGDIAD), Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM) and Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration.
(c). At least, a Second Class Honours Degree from other disciplines with recognised Postgraduate Diploma from a recognized Institution, including University of Ilorin Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy, Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM) and Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration.
v. Master of Health Planning and Management (MHPM):
A candidate to be admitted shall:
(a). Hold an honours first degree in Health Planning and Management, or in related fields; Or have an honours degree in a discipline other than Health Planning and Management, plus at least 3 years experience in Health Planning, Research and Statistics or other relevant Departments after graduation; OR hold an honours first degree in other disciplines, but must in addition, possess postgraduate Diploma in Health Planning and Management or related fields from recognized Institutions; OR a pass degree in Health Planning and Management or related disciplines, plus 3 years experience OR any other qualifications approved by Senate of the University.
(b). A minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division in any of the above.
vi. Master in Information Technology (MIT) Regular:
Candidates applying for this programme shall possess any of the following:
(a) A Bachelor Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology or any related field, with a minimum of Second Class Honour (Lower Division) or Lower Credit grade, or
(b) A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any related field, with a Third Class and a minimum of 1 year IT-related working experience, or
(c) A Bachelor Degree with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) or its equivalent in any field of study with a minimum of 3 years IT-related working experience which may involve planning, development, operations and maintenance of Information Systems, or
(d) A Bachelor Degree with a Third Class in any field of study with a minimum of 5 years IT-related working experience which may involve planning, development, operations and maintenance of Information Systems.
vii. Master in International Studies (MIS):
To be admitted for the programme prospective candidate shall meet the following requirements:
(a) Have a minimum of Five “O” Level Credits including English Language, and any other four
subjects with at least a pass in Mathematics in WAEC or its equivalent.
(b) Hold at least a degree in any field from the University of Ilorin or any other recognized University with at least a Third Class Honour.
(c) Postgraduate Diploma Certificate irrespective of disciplines.
viii. Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM):
Candidates for admission into the PGDSM shall normally possess a Bachelor degree with a minimum of Third Class or professional qualifications such as ICAN or HND certificates with a minimum of Lower Credit from recognized Institutions.
ix. Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing and Logistics Management (PGDMLM):
Candidates for admission into the PGDMLM shall normally possess a Bachelor degree with a minimum of Third Class or HND certificates with a minimum of Lower Credit from recognized Institutions.
x. Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy: (PGDIAD)
Candidates seeking admission into the Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy shall have:
(a). a minimum of five “O” Level Credits, including English Language and any other four subjects with at least a pass in Mathematics in WAEC or its equivalent.
(a). at least a Honour degree in any field from the University of Ilorin or any other recognized university.

(c). an HND certificate with a minimum of pass grade.
xi. Postgraduate Diploma in Employment Relation and Trade Unionism
(PGDERTU):
The program is open to graduates of recognized universities or polytechnics with a
(a). 5 O’Level Credits Passed in not more than 2 sittings
(b). BSc or HND in HRM or in a related management, social, science or engineering course.
(c). Candidates with a third class degree or lower class of degree can as well apply for the program.
xii. Master of Disaster Risk Management (M.DRM):
i. Candidate must possess 5 ‘O’ Level credits including English Language, Mathematics, and any other Three () from either Arts, Commercial or Science
ii. graduates of the University of Ilorin and any other university and higher institutions recognized by the Senate of the University of Ilorin.
iii. candidates with a good Honours Degree in Geography, Sociology, Psychology, and Public Health. And other social, Arts related disciplines, Agriculture and Forestry, Veterinary Medicine, Environmental Sciences, Town Planning and Engineering or equivalent professional qualifications.
iv. candidates working in disaster and humanitarian related fields could be accorded an added advantage.
v. Aside (i) to (iii) above, all candidates must satisfy the University of Ilorin requirements for Postgraduate admissions.
NOTE: Please note that at least Credit passes in Mathematics and English Language at “O” Level are required to qualify for admission into our programmes except Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy.

D. APPLICATION FEE, PROCEDURE AND DATE OF QUALIFYING EXAMINATION
Application Fee
Application fee for each programme is N25,000.00 only for applicants within Nigeria OR $200.00 only for international applicants and payment is to be made online.

Method of Application
Candidates are advised to visit the University of Ilorin website: www.unilorin.edu.ng and click on Ilorin Business School (IBS) Portal. Application Forms are to be completed online. Successful applicants would be notified by e-mail and or by applicants personally checking the admission status icon of the Ilorin Business School Portal.
Qualifying Examination Date and Time: All applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma and Master Degree Programmes will be subjected to a written assessment (qualifying examination), irrespective of the class of degree obtained. The qualifying examination will be held at the Ilorin Business School, beside Student Union Building, University of Ilorin on a date to be announced later.
