Nurse Who Injected Mohbad Has Been Arrested – Iyabo Ojo

Published

on

Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has disclosed that the nurse who injected late Nigerian rapper, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, aka Mohbad before his passing has been arrested.

Mohbad, the street pop singer, died in a controversial manner on September 12 and was buried the next day.

On September 14, Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, revealed that the singer passed away after receiving an injection administered by an auxiliary nurse.

The Lagos state police command inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to probe the singer’s death.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos governor, also invited the Department of State Services (DSS) to join in the ongoing investigation into the death of Mohbad.

Ojo initially announced a rally from Oba Akran to the Lagos state executive and legislative houses to be held on Wednesday.

She later cancelled the rally due to fears of potential disruption by unruly elements.

However, the actress stated that her team would still visit Lagos state government offices to register their concerns.

During an Instagram live session, Ojo provided an update on Mohbad’s case.

She confirmed that arrests have been made, including the nurse who treated Mohbad.

She also said more arrests are underway, adding that police authorities are calling on “some people to turn themselves in”.

“They are going to do the autopsy… they have made some arrests,” she said.

“The nurse has been arrested, that I know. That is the only information I can give you right now… they have arrested some people. They are asking some people to turn themselves in.”

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Idowu Owohunwa, the state commissioner of police, said the force will thoroughly examine every piece of information, person, or place linked to Mohbad’s death.

During the briefing — which had Ojo in attendance — Owohunwa said the police had sent invitation letters to persons of interest in the singer’s death to come forward and clear their names.

The Lagos police chief warned that whoever failed to honour the invitation would be declared wanted.

Owohunwa also said the force will seek the help of the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) if persons of interest in the case are not in Nigeria.

Thousands of fans have protested nationwide while demanding justice for the late singer, with some holding candlelight processions in his honour.

Davido, the Afrobeats singer, announced his return from the UK to join Mohbad’s candlelight procession in Nigeria.
