MICHAEL OKPARA UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE, UMUDIKE ANNOUNCE SALES OF ADMISSION INTO SPECIALIZED POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES FOR 2022/2023 SESSION

Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike is pleased to announce that admission into postgraduate training programmes at the Centre of Excellence in Root Crop Research and Development are now open.The Centre is one of the Tetfund Centres of Excellence (TCOEs).



Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates of all nationalities. The Centre of Excellence in Root Crop Research and Development (CERCORD) runs specialised postgraduate courses leading to award of Masters (M.Sc/M.Engr.) and Doctorate (PhD.) degrees. The courses are structured to integrate academic and entrepreneurial skills with demand-driven research in the following areas:

ELIGIBILITY

Candidates of all nationalities within and outside Africa possessing qualifications equivalent to recognized first degrees in relevant disciplines are eligible to apply.

The M. Sc. programme will generally be open to all graduates of B.Sc. Food Sc. &Tech., B. Tech (Food Sc. &Tech), B. Agric, B.Sc Agric, B. Tech Agric and B. Eng Agric. with a minimum of CGPA of 3.0. on a 5-point scale. Holders of PGD in any of the relevant disciplines with a minimum of Upper Credit (or CGPA of 3.0 on a 5 Point scale) shall also be eligible for admission into the programme, on the condition that the candidates met basic university matriculation requirements of five (5) O’ level credits in their relevant disciplines.

The PhD programme will be open to Master degree holders in courses that are relevant to the different options in the programme.

DURATION

M.Sc. Progammes

* Course work along with dissertation for 4 Semesters 

* 2-3 months of Internship in collaborating industries, parastatals and institutions.

PhD. Programmes

* PhD. Programmes will be mainly research based, spanning 6 semesters.

MODE OF DELIVERY

Course delivery is in a hybrid mode -Physical and Virtual

FEES:

The programme is tuition free, however other charges outside tuition fees shall be tenable in line with MOUAU postgraduate requirements.

METHOD OF APPLICATION:

All applicants should visit the MOUAU PORTAL https://portal.mouau.edu.ng and click on Registration, New Student Registration and then “CERCORD”. Next click on begin new registration, fill your biodata form and proceed to payment. The application form is twenty-five thousand naira(25,000) only. After payment use your CAN number to continue with your application.

All applicants must request their respective institutions (University) to forward their academic transcripts directly to The Admin Lead, CERCORD, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. Soft copy should be sent to cercord@mouau.edu.ng
