Toyin Lawani, a renowned Nigerian celebrity designer and stylist, has delivered a strong message to those who criticized her Christmas outfit.
The designer made headlines with her unconventional Christmas outfit, opting for a dress and cape made from pepper and mops instead of the traditional pajamas for her Christmas shoot.
To explain her creative choice, Toyin shared that she had put significant thought into her outfit this year due to the challenges she faced. She revealed that her outfit was crafted from 1000 peppers and 70 mops, and she even endured a cut from the pepper. Despite the weight of the cape, which proved to be heavier than expected, she persevered during the shoot.
While her outfit received both admiration and criticism online, Toyin responded to her detractors by urging them to jump off a cliff and asserting her position as the “King of Fashion.” She also emphasized the realness of the pepper used, stating, “Fashion is pain.”
This isn’t the first time Lawani has turned heads with her Christmas outfits. In previous years, she transformed herself into a Christmas tree and boxes for her holiday shoots.
For her 41st birthday, Lawani wore a symbolic dress made of silver spoons and pots to represent the situation in Nigeria. She also previously donned a fried chicken dress, which she had initially spoken about on the Real Housewives of Lagos.
Recently, fans lauded Lawani after American rapper Cardi B’s daughter, Kulture, was seen wearing an outfit designed by her. This recognition from an international celebrity brought her immense joy.

The murder of the renowned South African rapper, Kiernan Forbes, popularly known as AKA, has led to the arrest of six suspects.
According to reports from NewsNow, AKA and his close friend were fatally shot outside a restaurant in the coastal city of Durban in February 2023.
Tragically, AKA and his companion, Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motshoane, fell victim to armed assailants as they were heading towards their vehicle.
During a recent press briefing, the KwaZulu-Natal provincial police commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, disclosed that the apprehended suspects are set to appear in court on Thursday.
In a widely circulated online video, Lieutenant-General Mkhwanazi provided insights into the arrests and the roles each suspect played in the rapper’s untimely death.
He emphasized, “It became evident that AKA was under surveillance from the airport and Tibz was not the primary target in the fatal shooting on Florida Road in Durban.
“We are aware that they were financially motivated for this act,” he added.

Logos Olori, a signee of DMW, asserted that he penned the lyrics to the Grammy-nominated track ‘Unavailable’ by his record label chief Davido, which features Musa Keys.
He expressed that he was the mastermind behind the track, with his colleague Peruzzi contributing to the verse.
In a recent interview with Cool FM in Lagos, the singer revealed this information.
According to Logos Olori: “We created ‘Unavailable’ which got a Grammy nod. The collaborative effort happened in Ajah involving myself, Magicsticks, and Ragee. It was even Rihanna’s favorite song in 2023.”
He further elaborated: “I crafted the song, while Peruzzi was responsible for the verse. Following the initial creation, Davido requested a change in the verse, prompting Peruzzi to step in. However, the core idea of the song was mine. We made some adjustments; that’s when Musa Keys and Peruzzi got involved.”
