Published

Popular Nollywood actor and musician, Charles Okocha, is not content with his recent loss in a celebrity boxing match and is now calling for a rematch.

The event, which took place at Landmark Beach in Victoria Island, Lagos State, pitted Charles against singer Portable, resulting in Portable emerging as the undisputed winner.

Following his defeat, Charles expressed his dissatisfaction and suspicion by claiming that the match was fixed.

He raised concerns about Portable’s victory, emphasizing that the fight should have ended in disqualification when Portable quit in the third round and removed his gloves, signaling that he wasn’t following the standard boxing rules.

Moreover, Charles criticized the referees for their incompetence, alleging that they lacked a proper understanding of boxing regulations, which led to the incorrect declaration of Portable as the victor.

He stated, “How can you give up on the 3rd round when we have 4 rounds? How do you take off your gloves in the 3rd round that’s total disqualification when the fight hasn’t ended. Y’all know this shit was rigged plus an incompetent referee that knows nothing about boxing rules. Nevertheless, we move on, rematch soon”.

He added, “So y’all really think this lil nigga won after giving up on round 3 that ought to be an automatic disqualification. Sh*t was rigged all we want is a rematch”.

Charles Okocha calls for a rematch with Portable

In response, fans took to social media to express their opinions, with some agreeing with Charles and others poking fun at the situation.

This call for a rematch comes after a public altercation between the two celebrities, sparked by allegations that Charles swindled Portable. Accusations were made regarding a show in Desmond, Abuja, where Portable claimed he was unfairly compensated. This disagreement eventually led to the boxing match as a means of settling their dispute.

Portable, on the other hand, has declared himself the heavyweight champion and asserted his dominance over the streets.

He expressed that he was the mastermind behind the track, with his colleague Peruzzi contributing to the verse.

In a recent interview with Cool FM in Lagos, the singer revealed this information.

He further elaborated: “I crafted the song, while Peruzzi was responsible for the verse. Following the initial creation, Davido requested a change in the verse, prompting Peruzzi to step in. However, the core idea of the song was mine. We made some adjustments; that’s when Musa Keys and Peruzzi got involved.”
