ADC in Imo State Dissolves Executive Committee and Inaugurates New Leadership
In Imo State, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dissolved the Ignatius Nlem-led State Working Committee (SWC) and inaugurated a new leadership.
Following their alleged involvement in anti-party activities during the recent off-cycle Governorship Election in the state, the former SWC led by Ignatius Nlem was given the option to voluntarily resign or face dismissal.
In a statement released by the National Vice Chairman South East – Chilos Godsent in Owerri, the ADC disclosed that the newly constituted SWC has been tasked with reshaping the party in the state and leading it to victory in the 2027 General Elections.
The newly appointed members of the State Working Committee are as follows: Chief Dr Amushie Emmanuel – State Chairman, Hon Amadi Chidi – State Deputy Chairman, Mr Okoro Charles – State Secretary, Mrs. Ijeoma Egocha – State Treasurer, Hon Justice Ugochukwu – State Financial Secretary, Mr. Oparaugo Emmanuel – State Publicity Secretary, Deacon Jacob Onuigbo – State Organizing Secretary, Mrs Loveth Emedo – State Auditor, Iroh Lazarus Iheanacho – State Legal Adviser, Lolo Ngozi Nwosu – State Women Leader, Comrade Edih Chidiebere – State Youth Leader, Chief Charles Nwosu – State Vice Chairman Okigwe Zone, Chief Onukaogu Paschal – State Vice Chairman Owerri Zone, Mazi Nnamdi Aguguo – State Vice Chairman Orlu Zone.
Chief Dr Amushie Emmanuel, the new State Chairman of ADC in Imo State, expressed wholehearted dedication to working with the team to secure electoral victory for ADC in future elections. He also reaffirmed ADC’s commitment to pursuing all available political and legal channels to ensure that the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) conducts the Local Government Council Elections in the state before June 2024.
As the primary opposition party in Imo State, ADC pledges to actively advocate for participatory democracy and good governance in the state.
The ADC’s action of dissolving the former executive committee and appointing new leaders highlights a significant shift in the political landscape of Imo State.
