Peter Obi Still Better Than Tinubu, Atiku, Others, Says Obasanjo, Gives Reason
- Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has again refused to acknowledge President Bola Tinubu as the leader Nigeria needs to progress
- During one of his recent interviews, the ex-military head of state declared that Peter Obi of the Labour Party was the best candidate
- His statement correlates with his declaration in the build-up to the 2023 polls, where he described Obi as Nigeria’s hope
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has described the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25 presidential election, Peter Obi, as still the best candidate for a better Nigeria. Obasanjo disclosed this in a recent chat with media personality, Chude Jideonwo.
Despite President Bola Tinubu being declared the winner of the last election, the former president said Obi remains the candidate that Nigeria needs. As reported by Tribune, he said:
“For the Nigeria that I believe we need to have at this point in time, Peter Obi is still the best (pauses) man.”
Recall the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had in March declared the then-candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu as the winner of the keenly contested February 25 presidential poll. Obi is currently in court challenging the process that declared Tinubu winner of the 2023 presidential election with many Nigerians diverting their attention on the judiciary.
Presidential Tribunal: Fresh Twist as Labour Party’s Maths Professor Presents Reports from Just 2 States
In another development, Eric Ofuegbu, Professor of Mathematics presented by the Labour Party has tendered his reports before the Presidential Election Petitions Court.
Ofuegbu was able to present reports from just Benue and Rivers states, stating he was limited by time.
According to Ofuegbu, his reports are based on the collation and mathematical tabulation he got using data from the INEC result viewing portal.
Tribunal: INEC, APC Kick Against Labour Party’s Request to Quiz IT Experts, Gives Reason
Meanwhile, the Labour Party and its flagbearer Peter Obi requested an order to question INEC on the credibility of ICT devices used during the conduct of the February 25 presidential election. The party sought to know from the interrogatories the quality of the ICT experts deployed in the use of technology for the conduct of the disputed poll. INEC objected to Obi’s bid to subject its client to interrogation through incompetent applications.
