Expressing concern over the severity of JAMB’s actions, the House believes that the withdrawal of the candidate’s result and the subsequent three-year ban are excessive and detrimental to the young student’s academic future. They suggest that Mmesoma may have been influenced or manipulated by an adult in this matter.
To address the issue, the House of Representatives has established an ad hoc committee that will thoroughly investigate the allegations. They have also instructed JAMB to suspend any further actions regarding Mmesoma’s case until the committee completes its investigation.
Mmesoma Ejikeme, in a video released on social media, expressed her shock and disbelief at the accusation of result forgery. She asserts that she obtained her result directly from the JAMB portal and was unaware of any fraudulent activity. “I printed the result from the JAMB portal,” Mmesoma stated. “They now saying that I forged my result is what I don’t know. I am traumatised that they accused me of forging my own result. I am not capable of forging a result.”
However, JAMB maintains its stance and accuses the candidate of manipulating her result. According to the examination body, Mmesoma Ejikeme actually scored 249 marks, contrary to her claim of 362.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program, Mmesoma reiterated her innocence and argued that she should not be held responsible for the controversy. “It’s not my fault that I printed my result like that, and they said that I forged my result. It’s not my fault. So, them banning it is not fair,” she expressed.
Meanwhile, Romanus, Mmesoma’s father, believes that JAMB has treated his daughter unfairly. He attests to her exceptional intelligence and academic performance, which has been evident since her primary school days. Romanus shared that he has no intention of seeking legal redress and has chosen to entrust the situation to a higher power.
The House of Representatives intervention aims to address the JAMB result forgery allegation objectively and ensure a fair resolution for Mmesoma Ejikeme, considering the potential impact on her educational journey and future prospects.
