Cubana Chief Priest Elated As Davido Bags First Grammy Nomination, Singer Reacts
Businessman and best friend of music star Davido, Cubana Chief Priest is one of the few celebrities who have publicly shown love to Davido following his Grammy nomination.
On Friday the social media was thrown into a frenzy with the news of Davido’s first nomination.
The singer had in October submitted his comeback album, Timeless to the Record Academy, and surprisingly, Davido bagged 3 nominations for Best Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Global Music Album.
Speaking on his nomination, Davido affirmed that delay isn’t denial, especially since his contemporaries, Burna Boy and Wizkid have been recognized by the academy.
Celebrating with him, Cubana called him his in-law as he expressed how excited he was about the news.
He noted how God’s time is always the best.
“My Inlaw @davido
Grammy. Na Water. God’s Time Is The Best.
I’m so excited. Ogechi Kacha Mma
30BillionGeng”.
Reacting to it, Davido stated that they did it together.
“WE DID IT BROOO”.
Recall that early this year, many were surprised when Davido and Cubana unfollowed each other on Instagram, hinting at conflict.
The two who were like two peas in a pod and were the envy of many left many surprised as they not only unfollowed each other on the photo-sharing app but stopped commenting and liking each other posts.
To further fuel the rumors of beef, Cubana Chief Priest didn’t promote Davido’s Lagos concert, which was unlike him, and neither did he attend his Timeless concert.
Weighing in, Investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo alleged that the pregnancy rumor filtering the internet was the cause of the rift.
She claimed that Cubana Chief Priest was the one who leaked the pregnancy news to a blogger.
However, in May the two reconciled as Davido took to Cubana’s comment section to hail him, noting how his best friend loves enjoyment, while also describing him as his in-law.
