ANCHOR UNIVERSITY AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO 61 BEST SCORERS IN 2023 UTME

The Vice chancellor of Anchor University, Lagos, Professor Sam Oye Bandele on Thursday 6th of July, 2023, awarded scholarships to 61 students with highest scores from Deeper Life High School in the 2023 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination. Speaking at a press conference organized recently at the institution, Professor Bandele lauded the giant feat achieved by the overall best student Miss Kamsiyochukwu Precious Umeh.



The Vice Chancellor, on behalf of the proprietor of the institution Pastor (Dr.) W.F. Kumuyi, the BOT chairman, Pastor Nkem- jika Obina, the Pro-Chancellor, Professor Steven Odi-Owei and Anchor University Management at large, pronounced Miss Kamsiyochukwu Precious Umeh as the young ambassador for the 2022/2023 session with a full scholarship awarded to her to study any course of her choice in Anchor University. He went further to pronounce tuition-free award scholarship to the first best 10 students in UTME from the Deeper Life High School nation-wide. He also pronounced a high percentage rebate on tuition for the first 50 students of the Deeper Life High School who will be admitted into Anchor University for the 2023/2024 academic session who scored above 250 in the 2022/2023 UTME.

Professor Sam Oye Bandele who is a Professor of Educational Evaluation and Computer Education also used the occasion to call on all Nigerians to be slow in supporting alleged wrongdoers against accredited and national bodies saddled with the defined responsibilities. He said we should not bring anything that will affect the foundation of quality input into our national ivory towers to a platform of political muscle flinging. He was reacting to the mix-up about JAMB scores with some candidates. He went further that JAMB has the authentic database on quality digitalization of all their activities. quest of JAMB to ensure quality input into the Nigerian higher education system. Speaking about Anchor University 2023/2024 admission exercise, he said parents and prospective students can start to process admission into any of the programs in the Faculties. In Applied, Natural and Health Sciences: Computer Science, Nursing Science, Medicine (in collaboration with Dominican University in Dominican Republic); Medical Laboratory Sciences, Public Health, Anatomy, Geology, Applied Geophysics, Physics with Electronics, Information Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology; and other core Sciences like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In Humanities, Social and Management Sciences: Mass Communication, Economics, Business Administrations, Political Sciences and International Sciences, English and Literary Studies, History and International Studies, French and Christian Religious Studies. In Environmental Sciences there is Architecture. Postgraduate programmes (PGD, M.Sc, MBA, and PhD) are also available in Computer Science, Microbiology, and Business Administration.
