AFRICAN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (AUST), ABUJA RELEASES 2023/2024 POST UTME ADMISSION FORM

The management of the African University of Science and Technology (AUST) Abuja invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its Undergraduate programmes for the 2023/2024 academic session.

The minimum cutoff JAMB score for the University for the 2023/2024 Session is 140.

AUST Post-UTME 2023: cut-off mark, eligibility and registration details

The programs so approved are as follows:

Accounting (B.Sc.)

Business Administration (B.Sc.)

Computer Science (B.Sc.)

Software Engineering (B.Sc.)

Materials & Metallurgical Engineering (B. Eng.)

Civil Engineering (B.Eng.)

Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.) and

Petroleum & Energy Resources Engineering (B. Eng.)

Requirements

Requirements are: 1. Applicant must have a JAMB score of at least 140 2. Applicant must have 5 credit load in his/her WAEC/NECO including Maths and English

1. SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

Direct Entry (DE) Requirements

Two ‘A’ Level passes, A Level passes to include Physics, Mathematics and any other

subject. ND/NCE at Credit/merit levels and HND lower credit in relevant programmes into 200

and 300 levels. Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Sci. /computing related programmes from recognized universities and polytechnics may be admitted into SOFTWARE ENGINEERING programme at 300 level to pursue a degree course. e. All candidates

seeking admission into the University must meet the SSCE basic requirements.

UTME Requirements

Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics/Further Mathematics, and

any of Physics, data processing, computer science plus two (2) other Science subjects.

UTME Subjects

Mathematics, Physics, and one (1) of Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics, and

Geography.

2. COMPUTER SCIENCE

Direct Entry (DE) Requirements

Two ‘A’ Level passes, A Level passes to include Physics, Mathematics any other subject. ND/NCE

at Credit/merit levels and HND lower credit in relevant programmes into 200 and 300 levels.

Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Sci. /computing related programmes from recognized universities and polytechnics may be admitted into COMPUTER

SCIENCE programme at 300 level to pursue a degree course. e. All candidates seeking admission into the University must meet the SSCE basic requirements.

UTME Requirements

Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics/Further Mathematics, and any of Physics, data processing, computer science plus two (2) other Science subjects.

UTME Subjects

Mathematics, Physics, and one (1) of Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics, and Geography.

3. SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING

PETROLEUM AND ENERGY RESOURCES ENGINEERING

Direct Entry (DE) Requirements

Two ‘A’ Level passes, A Level passes to include Physics, Mathematics any other subject. ND/NCE at Credit/merit levels and HND lower credit in relevant programmes into 200 and 300 levels.

Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Petroleum. /Chemical engineering, Geology, Geophysics and related programmes from recognized universities and polytechnics may

be admitted into PETROLEUM AND ENERGY RESOURCES ENGINEERING programme at 300 level to pursue a degree course. All candidates seeking admission into the University must meet the SSCE basic requirements.

UTME Requirements

Five (5) SSC credits include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Further Mathematics, English Language, and any Science subject.

UTME Subjects

Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.

4. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Direct Entry (DE) Requirements

Two ‘A’ Level passes, A Level passes to include Physics, Mathematics any other subject. ND/NCE

at Credit/merit levels and HND lower credit in relevant programmes into 200 and 300 levels. Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mech. Engineering/related programmes holders from recognized universities and polytechnics may be admitted into relevant programmes

at 300 level to pursue a degree course. All candidates seeking admission into the University must meet the SSCE basic requirements.

UTME Requirements

Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Further Mathematics,

English Language, and any other Science subject.

UTME Subjects

Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

5. MATERIAL AND METALLURGICAL ENGINEERING

Direct Entry (DE) Requirements

Two ‘A’ Level passes, A Level passes to include Physics, Mathematics any other subject. ND/NCE

at Credit/merit levels and HND lower credit in relevant programmes into 200 and 300 levels.

Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Materials/ Metallurgical

Engineering/related programmes holders from recognized universities and polytechnics may be

admitted into relevant programmes at 300 level to pursue a degree course. All candidates seeking

admission into the University must meet the SSCE basic requirements.

UTME Requirements

Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Further Mathematics,

English Language and any other Science subject.

UTME Subjects

Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry 

7. BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Direct Entry (DE) Requirements

‘A’ level passes in any two (2) of the following subjects: Economics, Accounting, Business

Management, Government and Geography OR ND/NCE at credit level and HND lower credit in

relevant programmes into 200 and 300 levels. Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND)

in Accounting/ business administration/ Economics/ related programmes obtained from a

recognized Polytechnic plus three (3) other SSC subjects passed at credit level. AUST accepts very

good passes in three (3) JUPEB subjects: Economics and any two (2) of Financial Accounting,

Business Management, Government and Geography.

8. ACCOUNTING

Direct Entry (DE) Requirements

‘A’ level passes in any two (2) of the following subjects: Economics, Accounting, Business

Management, Government and Geography OR ND/NCE at credit level and HND lower credit in

relevant programmes into 200 and 300 levels. Degree holders and Higher National Diploma (HND)

in accounting/ business administration/ Economics/ related programmes obtained from a

recognized Polytechnic plus three (3) other SSC subjects passed at credit level. AUST accepts very

good passes in three (3) JUPEB subjects: Economics and any two (2) of Financial Accounting,

Business Management, Government and Geography.

UTME Requirements

Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics/Further Mathematics,

Economics, and two (2) other relevant subjects. For NBC holders, the other two (2) relevant

subjects could be from any of Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Office Practice, and Secretarial

Duties.

UTME Subjects

Mathematics, Economics, and any other Social Science subject.

METHOD OF APPLICATION 

Undergraduate programs

Applications for all our first-year undergraduate degrees must be made online through the JAMB E-facility Portal Walk-in applicants who did not select AUST as their school of first choice will also need to visit the JAMB Portal to make the necessary changes to their choice of school on their page. For Direct Entry students applying for our 200 Level programs should send an email to admissions@aust.edu.ng or visit the Admissions Office (MH 113, Mandela Hall).

Applicants with a minimum score of 140 who had previously selected AUST as their first choice will automatically be given admission, after meeting the entry requirements for the program being applied for. Walk-in applicants who did not select AUST as their school of first choice, and have met the entry requirements for their program, should take the following steps:

Visit the JAMB E-facility Portal at https://jamb.gov.ng/efacility and log in with your email address and password.

Click on the ‘Application for Correction of Data (2023)’ from the list of services on the left panel.

From the drop-down menu, select the ‘Course/Institution’ option and make the necessary changes to AUST.
