4TH CONVOCATION: IBRAHIM BADAMASI BABANGIDA UNIVERSITY, LAPAI GRADUATES 6,117 STUDENTS

Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai has said it would graduate 37 first class and 6117 other students at its 4th convocation ceremony.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu, disclosed this in a pre-convocation press briefing on Tuesday in Minna.According to him, 954 students have second class upper, 3293 with second class lower, while 1538 got third class and Pass degree 17.

He noted that 435 students also graduated from the University’s post graduate degree programmes which include Doctor of Philosophy, Masters of Art, Masters of Science, Master’s of Education and Professional Masters.

Professor Abu Kasim Adamu added that the 4th combined convocation two overall best student from each of the two sessions which include 2019/2020 sessions Muhammad Aisha Egbako from Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Animal Production with the CGPA of 4.85 and for the 2020/2021 session is Ahmed Aisha Ketso from Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Department of Sociology with the CGPA of 4.81.

“The Overall best for the each of the session are all female”, he said.

The Vice Chancellor stated that this year’s lecture topic is, “Building Bridge Between Community Elites, Youth, University, and Challenges for Development in the 21st Century by Professor Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, as the distinguished guest lecturer.Professor Abu Kasim however added that four eminent Nigerians will be conferred with IBBUL Honorary Doctorate which include, His Excellency, Simon Bako Lalong, Executive Governor of Plateau State: Honorary Doctor of Administration (Honoris Causa); Colonel Sani Bello, Chairman, Mainstream Energy Solutions: Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters (Honoris Causa); Malam Ibrahim Aliyu, Chairman, Aliyu Trust Foundation: Honorary Doctor of Entrepreneurship Development (Honoris Causa), and Alhaji AbdulSamad Isyaku Rabiu, Chairman BUA Group: Honorary Doctorate Degree of Business Management (Honoris Causa).

The Vice Chancellor affirmed that the University is growing daily as new programs have been introduced such as medicine, noting that the Principal Officers have been appointed, adding that the 2022/2023 medical program will commence.
