- Nigeria’s First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has opened up on her journey into the senate for three decades
- Senator Tinubu disclosed her husband never wanted her to be a senator in the year 2011 but she later convinced him several times and he eventually gave her his full support
- The federal lawmaker made this disclosure during the last sitting of the ninth senate, the valedictory session held at the National Assembly, on Saturday, June 10
The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on Saturday at the Valedictory session of the 9th Senate of the National Assembly, disclosed that her husband, President Bola Tinubu, never wanted her to be a Senator. Senator Oluremi who was the third to speak after the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, and the current Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, had spoken, said that President Tinubu initially frowned at her desire to join the Red Chamber in 2011.

The lawmaker who had been at the Senate for 12 years further revealed that after several persuasions, the former Lagos State governor eventually relented and gave her his support, Daily Independent reported.

Remi Tinubu on Aso Rock Villa tour The First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, has taken Remi, the wife of the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, on a strategic tour of the Aso Rock presidential Villa. Aisha and Remi visited some strategic areas of the official residence of the Presidential family in the Aso Rock Villa during the tour on Tuesday, May 9, including the Glass House, which she described as a transitional home of the first family.
The tour of the outgoing and incoming First Lady was intended to familiarise the incoming first family with the Aso Rock presidential villa.

Incoming First Lady, Senator Oluremi Remi Tinubu has said that her family does not need Nigeria’s wealth to survive. According to the wife of the president-elect, she and her husband, the president-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, need the grace of God to govern.
She also said that they need the prayers from Nigerian people as she reiterated that Tinubu’s government will do the right thing.
