NASU ISSUES 7-DAY STRIKE NOTICE TO FUNAAB

The national leadership of the Non-Academic Staff Union, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta chapter, has issued a notice of one week strike to the management of the institution. The union said its branch would embark on a seven-day strike from Monday, October 24, 2022.This was disclosed in a letter titled, “Notification of a seven-Day strike action”, dated October 7, signed by the Senior Assistant General Secretary, Damola Adelekun, and addressed to FUNAAB Vice-Chancellor. Adelekun revealed in the letter that some complaints have been made against the office of the VC on the statutory procedure for the welfare of NASU members at the institution. The union headquarters has been inundated with an avalanche of complaints against your exalted office over the statutory procedure of the welfare as the well-being of NASU members at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. “This your anti-NASU policies and illegality can be deduced from the following among others: (a) undue interference in NASU activities (b) instigation of staff/members against the Union and its leadership (c) victimisation, stepping down, promotion and denial of career progression of Mr I.O. Odunjo (d) arbitrary arrest and detention of NASU members without any justification (e) suspension of four (4) NASU members as a result of their participation in 2019 National JAC of NASU and SSANU Industrial action etc. “In view of the above, I am on the directive to inform your office and NASU members have been directed to proceed on a seven-day strike over the above issues listed and the industrial action is to commence on Monday, 24th October 2022,” said NASU. In reaction to the NASU letter of Notification, signed by the Registrar, Bola Adekola, the management of the FUNAAB has appealed to the union to put off the proposed strike.In a one-page letter of reply to the Union, the FUNAAB Management explained that a meeting had been held with the leadership of NASU-FUNAAB to ensure peace and tranquillity on the campus. The reply letter read in part: “Management, therefore, appealed that the Union should stay action on the proposed strike by the Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions, FUNAAB Branch.

This is to inform all the candidates who are yet to upload their O/Level Results (WAEC, NECO, etc.) on the JAMB portal are hereby directed to do so at the JAMB Office or any JAMB Accredited CBT Centre, with immediate effect. The procedure is as follows:

1. Visit any JAMB Office or JAMB Accredited CBT Centre nationwide

FUBK notice to UTME & DE candidates on uploading of O'Level results

2. Request for the upload at the JAMB Office or JAMB Accredited CBT Centre

3. Submit JAMB Registration Number and O/level Result for the upload

4. Pay the prescribed token fee for the upload

5. Regularly visit your e-facility profile on the JAMB CAPS portal to check your admission status

  • It should be noted that only candidates who complied with this directive will be considered for admission.
  • The O/Level upload is done once. Kindly ignore this if you have already uploaded or secured admission.

This is to inform all Students resident in the University hostels that on the directive of the Vice Chancellor, they are expected to vacate the hostels on or before 12pm on Saturday 27th January 2024. Students are to take note of the following directives.

  • 1 Ensure you take all your personal belongings out of the hostel.
  • 2) Ensure you drop your room keys with the porters before you leave,

Note that the University Management will not be held responsible for any Students’ property left in the hostels.Please be guided accordingly.

AMBROSE ALLI UNIVERSITY (AAU) NEW GUIDELINES FOR ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES TO GRADUATES

The University Management is aware of the excruciating experiences graduates of Ambrose Alli University pass through in collecting their certificates. Some have to travel long distances through very bad and dangerous roads, and at great risk just to come back to Ekpoma to collect certificates.

As a result, the Management deliberated extensively on the way forward and approved that certificates be collected upon graduation before graduates leave the campus. To make this possible, the following steps are, therefore, to be taken:

AAU new guidelines for issuance of certificates to graduates

i) Once the results of the final year students are approved by the Senate, a copy is forwarded to Exams and Records for processing of the Statement of Result

ii) A copy will also be forwarded to the ICT to ensure the necessary Certificate fee is paid by the graduates

iii) A copy is forwarded to the calligrapher for the inscription of the Certificate

iv) All necessary steps would be taken to ensure signatories to the Certificate the Vice- Chancellor and Registrar append their signatures within 48 hours.

v) Upon presentation of the Certificate processing fee to the Senate Services Division, the Certificate is sealed and issued to the graduate.

The cooperation of all stakeholders -the lecturers, Heads of Departments, the Deans, and the graduating students is required to have a new seamless Certificate issuance regime and process for graduates of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma before they depart from the Campus.
