WE WON’T EXTEND UTME REGISTRATION DEADLINE- JAMB REGISTRAR, OLOYEDE
The Registrar of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB Prof Is-haq Oloyede has said the board will not extends registration deadline for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.
The Jamb Registrar gave this warning on Wednesday, while monitoring the registration exercise at Kano state.
He said, recall that the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME registration has commenced since January, 14th, 2023 and will closed on 14th of February, 2023.
While the exam was scheduled to start on April 29 and end on 12th of May, 2023, he said.
Speaking on the registration exercise, the Jamb Registrar said the board target was 1.8 million candidates and everything has been out in other to accomplish this.
We can register 100,000 candidates on a daily basis across all Centres in the country, so far the highest registration we’ve received so far is 65,000 daily. with this we can register 1.8 million candidates before the scheduled deadline of the registration on February 14.
Within the period of the commencement of Registration, the board has registered a total of 500,000 candidates across the country.
We do not expect and we don’t plan any extension of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME registration deadline as about 500,000 candidates has registered so far, I think we are good to go with this total.
He advise all on yet register UTME candidates to proceed to approved accredited Computer Based Test, Centres CBT in their area for their registration, as there won’t be any further extension of the registration ones the stipulated deadline elapse.
Speaking on apprehended centres, he said six operators of CBT centres has been arrested for the alleged of colliding with Students for malpractice. And 34 Students has been undercover and won’t sit for 2923 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME if by all means they sit for the exam, their papers will be cancelled he said.
Operators were found thumbprint for the candidates in those areas, the law stated that, all Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination candidates must thumbprint their ten fingers respectively themselves, while are the operators now going against the rules.
Any fingers that failed to be recognized should be mark as ‘Bad “?’ by the operators. We will make sure the alleged suspect were prosecute and we’ll dealt with, If the centre failed to produce them, they will be the one to take the blame he said.
We will not condone any infringement on its registration flow by technical officials of any of its accredited centres.
He urges all candidates to be guided by the registration guidelines and not by anybody.
