VELVET REVOLUTION BEGINS IN UNILORIN – VICE CHANCELLOR EGBEWOLE

The Vice Chancellor of University of Ilorin, Unilorin, Prof. Abdulwahab Egbewole, says his administration has sky rocket a ‘Velvet Revolution” in Unilorin that is aimed at making the institution one of the best among other Institutions in the world.

The Vice Chancellor made this state on Wednesday, 1st of February, 2023 at his maiden press briefing held at the main campus of University of Ilorin. The maiden press briefing mark his 109 days in office as the Vice Chancellor of University of Ilorin.

Professor Egbewole expressed his gratitude over the reduction in tension and uplifting of harmony is great, he said.

In his statement, ” I have engaged all members of staff in the institution on attitudinal and positive disposition of work.

Today mark 109 of my assumption of office as the Vice Chancellor of this Institution, Unilorin and the University has recorded great achievement so far, which includes the promotion of 31 Professors and 38 readers in various departments across the university.

Furthermore, 11 Academic Staff of the institution were announces by the international acclaimed Elservier, among the top 500 authors after his assumption of office last year August.

We’ve also received numerous funds and awards from some external bodies as well as partnership deal with some universities within and outside the nation.

The Institutions has also won a sum of N75m award from the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB and the funds was used to repair the institution’s GRA quarters road.

He also revealed that, the University received memorandum of Understandings signed with Tunil University in Italy, University of London, Summit University Offa, and School of Oriental and African Studies.

The Institution also won N200m from Tetfund’s zonal intervention award, The Vice Chancellor assure the entire community of the university that his administration shall continue to build on the foundation laid by our founding fathers.

Recall that, the University of Ilorin Post UTME screening exercise for the 2022/2023 Academic session will commence in two weeks time, 13th of February, 2023.

 

 

 

Everything has been put in place to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted Post UTME screening exercise for the aspirants of the institution.

Also recall that, the University management appeals to the entire Students of the institution on the ongoing transportation issues, which as made the institution to shift ground and make most of larger classes to virtual class. This was to ensure smooth transition of students in and out of the school campus.
