SPS 4.0: UNILORIN SU SENATE COUNCIL SETS TO HOLD THE FOURTH EDITION OF STUDENTS’ PARLIAMENTARY SUMMIT

Published

on

All is jiggy and warm on the streets of the prestigious University Of Ilorin after the almost two-year wait for one of the grandest events hosted in the university environs by the Students’ Union, The SPS 4.0 is finally here and this year it’s hotter, bigger and yes! Unilorites are not ready for this edition.

In previous years, there have been notable and highly revered personalities honouring the Campus for the Students’ Parliamentary Summit. last year, the Distinguished Senator Rafiu Ibrahim and Rt. Hon. Raherm Tunji Ajuloopin in their full regalia and entourage, graced the SPS 3.0 with their enigmatic presence.

This year, under the leadership of Senator Fasasi Ahmed Olalekan, the Senate Council is bringing the ever-charismatic and distinguished honour all the way from Abuja. He is brilliant, a persona of excellence, he is diligent, an embodiment of grace and virtue, he is the Senator Representing Kwara Central, The Turaki of Ilorin, and the distinguished Senator, mallam Saliu Mustapha.

What does it mean to have the Turaki attending this year’s SPS? The over 50000 populace of Unilorin would be chanced to be in his presence. And for the first time in history. He’d be addressing the lucky few that’d be seated in the University Auditorium on the 26th, of July, 2023 and learn from his wealth of experience.

Senator Saliu Mustapha is a respected figure of resilience and hard work, whose sojourn to the limelight is not without roots. From his alliance with President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 and 2019 elections, to his titleship as the Deputy National Chairman of the Congress of Progressive Change (CPC). Senator Saliu Mustapha served as the publicity secretary of Dr Ezekiel Ezeogu’s Progressive Liberation Movement (PLM) and was a member of Fawehinmi’s Progressive Action Congress.

Senator Saliu Mustapha’s turbaning was a colourful event as all and sundry gathered to celebrate the fourth Turaki of the Ilorin Emirates. His emergence as the Senator representing Kwara Central came as no surprise to the indigenes as his dedication and generosity paved his path to the national assembly.

Saliu Mustapha is exceptional, his achievements and noble personality are a source of inspiration to many Unilorites, hence the need for the Council to seek out his presence at the SPS. Along with other noteworthy and eminent dignitaries that will be gracing the event, the SPS 4.0 promises to the Educating, Enlightening, Inspiring and history-making. Be there!
