In response, a tweep advised her to consider remarrying in 2024, implying that the filmmaker is getting older.

In her retort, Funke Akindele appreciated the advice, noting the tweep’s role as the wedding planner.

Funke Akindele has been married twice; first to Adeola Oloyede and then to JJC Skillz.

Last year, JJC shocked many when he announced the end of his 7-year-old union to the actress, citing issues for the past two years and revealing that the marriage had reached a point where Funke Akindele asked him to leave her house and refused any form of amicable communication.

Barely a year after their divorce, rumors circulated that JJC Skillz had allegedly married an Ebira woman, identified as Falilat Raji, in a private wedding held on the 10th of February, 2023, in Kano state, with only family and friends in attendance.

Discussing their separation, Funke Akindele revealed in an interview with Legit.ng that their visions no longer aligned, efforts to reconcile fell short, and their dreams and vision of their marriage no longer matched.

She had previously married Adeola Kehinde Oloyede in 2013, and their divorce was finalized in May 2016 due to irreconcilable differences. Reflecting on this, Funke advised young women against rushing into marriage due to pressure, emphasizing the negative impact of her first marriage’s publicized end on her life and career.

Despite their separation, the estranged couple seems to maintain a good relationship, as they reunited in September for the premiere of her movie, She Just Be Obeyed, which JJC Skillz directed.

In a heartwarming video, JJC Skillz was seen embracing his estranged wife, and they were seen sharing pleasantries. The video drew positive reactions and melted the hearts of many, including Faithia Williams.

Funke Akindele also joined him to pay tribute to his late friend, Steve Osagie, who passed away last year.

He further elaborated: “I crafted the song, while Peruzzi was responsible for the verse. Following the initial creation, Davido requested a change in the verse, prompting Peruzzi to step in.
